Lukla: Experience the most thrilling flight ever!

Flying to Lukla is exciting, and it takes a lot of courage to stay on that short flight. The flight will be breathtakingly beautiful and fascinating. This flight is one of the primary highlights of our 12-day Everest base camp itinerary package. What is it about this flight that makes it so thrilling and thrilling? It is, in fact, the runway of Lukla Airport. At 525 meters (1,729 feet), it has one of the world's shortest runways and one of the world's highest airports at 9,334 feet (2,845 m).

You've arrived at the world's most dangerous airport when you consider the high gradient of the runway, which dangles down the side of a mountain. Isn't it stimulating? From above the clouds, take in views of Everest, Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse, and other peaks.

According to National Geographic and Discovery documentaries, Lukla airport is the world's most dangerous airport.

This route is served by Dornier planes, which are small twin-propeller planes with a maximum capacity of 14 passengers. The non-pressurized cabins of these little planes add to the realism of the experience. Cloudy weather and varying air pressure in the high mountains make for a bumpy trip!

Walk among the wilderness through Sagarmatha National Park

Trekking in the Everest region exposes travellers to a wide range of climatic zones and plants. You stroll through Sagarmatha National Park which is home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna. This park is also a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. The trek includes numerous ascents and descents, as well as traversing various streams and dense woodlands. During the trek, we can gaze at the magnificent Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Pumori, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kwangde, Kangtaiga, and Gyachyung Kang.

Sagarmatha National Park has long been serving as a refuge for endangered animals and birds. The Red Panda and Snow Leopard are two rare animals found in Sagarmatha National Park. The birdlife of Sagarmatha National Park has long been a lure for visitors. Visitors enjoy bird viewing while taking in the landscape. With our 12-day trek package, you could well explore the solitude of Sagarmatha National Park!

The cultural melting pot: Explore Namche Bazar

Namche Bazaar is a significant stop on the Everest trekking route. It's an excellent place to see Nepal's Himalayan terrain and mountains. The first view of Everest can be seen along the paths to Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar, at 3,500 meters above sea level, is the beginning point for treks to Everest and other Himalayan peaks. It's a bustling market town with everything from trekking and climbing equipment to Tibetan antiques.

The diverse culture and tradition are bound to make you mesmerized!

You spend the night in various villages in the Everest Region, where you can learn about the Sherpa culture and traditions. People here are kind and helpful, so don't be shy about approaching them. They'd love to participate in the discussion and might share centuries-old legends. The whole expedition allows us to enjoy trekking in the Everest region while also learning about Buddhist temples and the Sherpa people of Nepal.

The Mani Rimbu celebration, the Sherpa people's biggest festival, takes place in monasteries during October and November when the Everest region is at its most pleasant and picturesque. Tourists visiting the Everest region this season will have the opportunity to take part in the Sherpa's wonderful festival. Namche Bazaar provides you with a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Explore the ancient monastery in Tengboche!

The main attraction for trekkers, mountaineers, and everyone else on the 12 days route to the legendary base camp is Tengboche Monastery! This old monastery, which is also a very important religious holy site in Khumbu, offers breathtaking views of Mt. Amadablam and the surrounding Himalayas. All pilgrims and visitors who enter this hallowed site will be blessed by Guru Rinpoche.

Lama Gulu erected the Tengboche monastery in 1961, but it was damaged in the 1934 earthquake. The monastery was later restored in the same year. However, the monastery was destroyed by fire in 1989 and had to be rebuilt. Regardless of these tragedies, the Tengboche monastery is the Khumbu region's oldest and largest.

Make it to the top of the WORLD!

At the base of the Khumbu Glacier, the base camp is surrounded by some of the world's most iconic Himalayas. For trekkers from all over the world, the EBC is a must-see! Each year, thousands of trekkers visit the base camp and other Nepalese circuits without tackling the summits. Reaching Everest's base camp is a significant accomplishment in and of itself. Breathtaking views of the Himalayan Mountains and glaciers can be seen from the camp.

Witness the other side of Mount Everest from Kala Patthar!

The Kala Patthar viewpoint is a popular point in the Khumbu region. Kala Patthar, located above the base camp, boasts 360-degree views of Everest and the surrounding mountains. Because the summit of Everest is not visible from Base Camp due to its structure, most trekkers would choose to hike Kala Patthar to gaze at the magnificent beast!

From Kala Patthar's vantage point, the towering peaks of Nuptse, Changtse, and Lhotse can also be seen. Many tourists ascend Kala Patthar first thing in the morning to catch the sunrise, but the sun rises behind Everest and Lhotse, making for a poor picture. Hiking is best done as the sun sets in the late afternoon. If the weather cooperates, you'll be able to see Everest and Lhotse bathed in golden light. For the views, a trip to Kala Patthar is a must during this 12-day trek package! DUE TO THE VIEWS!

The panorama of the Himalayas is breathtakingly beautiful!

Mount Everest (8,848 meters), Mount Cho Oyu (8,201 meters), Mount Nuptse (7,861 meters), Mount Ama Dablam (6,812 meters), Mount Thamserku (6,623 meters), Mount Kongde (6,187 meters), Mount Pumori (7,161 meters), and other peaks will be visible throughout the trekking. One of the best feelings in the world is to be able to gaze at the Himalayas nice and clear!

Thukla Pass and some minutes of silence

The journey requires climbing the 4800m Thukla Dhukla pass. This is the sole route that goes to Lobuche, where trekkers spend the night before descending to the base camp. At the pass's top, there are over 100 memorials to climbers who perished while attempting to ascend Mt Everest. This spot serves as a stark reminder of how brutal the mountains can be. The solitude and strong winds at the top of the pass can be unsettling at times, especially with all the memorials nearby.

    Useful Information

Answers to some of your frequently asked questions:

How difficult is it to trek to the EBC ?

The 12 Days Base Camp Package is a moderate trek. If you are new to trekking, especially on the Himalayan terrain, this trek can be challenging. Every day, you must walk for a minimum of 5 to 6 hours. The route features multiple ups and downs as well as a steep and difficult trail. This journey necessitates good health and physical fitness.

Are you concerned that the hardship of the EBC journey would affect the overall experience? Don't worry; once you've gained a complete awareness of the challenges you'll face, you can make appropriate plans and conquer the trek challenges. Isn't going on a trek pointless if there aren't any challenges to overcome? Overcoming the trip's difficulty will make your trek even more memorable, and you'll be better prepared for your next ascent.

Are any permits needed for trekking in the EBC Region ?

Two permits from the concerned authority are required for our 12-day trek program to the Everest base camp premises. As a result of decentralization, the Everest Region has built a new authorization system. There will be no need for a Trekker's Information Management System (TIMS) Card. The Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit is collected directly by the local administration. This permission is only available in Lukla and is not available in Kathmandu. The Nepal Tourism Board's Kathmandu headquarters can provide all further licenses. The costs and procedures for getting these licenses can differ.

A Sagarmatha National Park permit is required for trekking in the park's spectacular landscapes. The Sagarmatha National Park Permit is purchased at the Nepal Tourism Board's office on Pradarshani Marg in Kathmandu. Thamel can be reached on foot in 30 minutes. Monjo is also where you can get a Sagarmatha National Park to permit. The park's entrance is located in Monjo, a tiny village. Trekkers who want to explore the Everest Region's pristine foothills must first get a Sagarmatha National Park to permit.

When is the best time to go on an EBC Trek?

The motto reads, "Nepal for all seasons." Trekking in Nepal is always a good idea because trekkers can reach the base camp at any time of year. Spring and October are, however, the best times to embark on EBC Trek. The weather has become more consistent and moderate, making the travel more enjoyable.

Spring is from March to May, whereas autumn is from October to November. You can also go trekking in the winter, however, most trekkers would avoid it due to the terrible cold. The Base Camp Trek in October provides the best opportunity for excellent Himalayan views!

What are the food options in the EBC Trek?

Your body will require enough carbohydrates and proteins because we'll be trekking at high altitudes around the world's highest peak. The food we are offered on this trek is modest and sanitary! We recommend opting for local cuisine and delicacies because they are far more sanitary. It's preferable than having frozen foods that take days to get to the trails.

We handpick the best hotels, resorts, and restaurants, ensuring that the food is fresh, healthy, and delicious. We recommend Dal Bhat, a Nepalese dish that provides enough carbohydrates and protein for your body. You'll get plenty of protein from the lentils, beans, and pulses soup. Syakpa, commonly known as Sherpa stew, is another favourite dish! Seasonal vegetables will also be served in the host's home, providing additional nutrients to your body.

You can also sample other menu items including Momo (dumplings), locally grown Barley, Buckwheat, Millet, and Corn Roti (Bread), noodles, sandwiches, bakery products, and tea, coffee, and more! Buckwheat, millet, and barley are high-fibre cereals that are also nutritionally dense. Noodles, spaghetti, macaroni, pizza, lasagna, various curry dishes, and fried rice are just a few examples of cuisines that can be prepared with minimal effort.

Green tea, lemon tea, hot lemon, ginger tea, and garlic soup (a must) are all recommended at high elevations, as well as fresh vegetable items. Though there will be plenty of non-vegetarian options, we will not recommend them because the meat may not be as sanitary.

Dairy and cheese products, as well as alcoholic beverages, caffeinated beverages, and hot chocolates, should all be avoided on high-altitude excursions, according to the experts.

What kind of accommodation services do you get in EBC Trek?

We can also assist you in finding a high-end hotel and teahouse that fits your budget. Our 12 days Everest base camp trekking package includes luxury and premium hotels and lodges as well as budget-friendly hotel and lodge accommodations.

The teahouse accommodation offers comfortable mattresses with cushions, electric blankets, hot and cold showers, free Wi-Fi, and other amenities. The rooms are usually small and shared by two people. The room has a mattress, blanket, and pillow, as well as a few pieces of furniture. If you're going on your own, we can arrange for separate rooms for you.
